Ailsa Smith Thompson

BSc(Hons), PGCE, DPC.

Registered Member MBACP 378198

Working across the North East & Cumbria.

Dandelion Counselling offers a creative, safe and containing space to explore thoughts and feelings.

My belief is that to be effective, it is not about what I 'do', but, what I can 'be' for the client: meeting wherever you may be in life and gently & empathically co-creating a therapeutic relationship.

I am trained in integrative psychotherapeutic counselling with an interest in attachment and developmental trauma, framed within trauma- informed practice. Understanding of these areas allows us to move beyond behaviour modification into an understanding of what is happening in our brains and bodies. The language and insights from these fields can gently support a shift to a life where we 'respond' rather than 'react'.

I also have an interest in working with adults who are seeking to unlock, rekindle or grow their creativity.

My practice rests on the relationship between myself and client, co-creating creative methods to explore and raise curiosity leading to awareness- always in a sensitive and gentle way.

Trained to work face to face and via online / telephone.

Warm Wishes
